My name is Dr Ben Phillips – I’m a chiropractor, life coach and health & wellness educator!

I’ve collected a great deal of knowledge over the years, from many teachers, sources and study…

And with 15 years experience in clinical practice I’ve developed some great “hows” – ways to apply this information easily, implementing simple strategies and systems to help YOU heal and also develop a better quality of life!

Sharing this with you is my passion – and I’m good at it!

I’ve developed a clear and coherent model of healthcare which you can read more about here. It’s focused very much on preventative and proactive healthcare strategies – getting on the front foot in life and actively working on enhancing health rather than only reacting when health is lost or compromised in some way.

My hope – one of my key aims – is to help guide people to understand this DIFFERENT proactive framework and implement steps of this framework as they feel comfortable to do so – I genuinely believe it is a better way for ourselves, for our families and loved ones, for our colleagues and friends, and for our community and society more broadly

Interacting with healthcare and health professionals can be a very different experience from what many people are used to – we hope it is when you come to visit us; the right kinds of doctors and experts can help you enhance life. This is a better approach than the current status quo which just has too much that is NOT going right; simple shifts are all that it requires to take us a long way toward a very different future.

My focus is to help our broader community understand the potential benefits of this type of healthcare (as well as the disadvantages and risks inherent in maintaining the status quo); I actively work to change what our culture teaches us - where health is framed almost solely in terms of sickness and treatment; I seek to re-prioritise at the level of the individual, our community and implementation of health policy to create a BETTER WAY so everyone in our society world can flourish.

Chiropractic care, is not the only key for living a Vibrant Life, and yet, you do need a properly functioning nervous system to live TRULY healthy - that's what Chiropractic provides!

 

The skills, knowledge and expertise I’ve attained over time in the health & wellness field are here for you to take advantage of – here is an outline of some of that experience to help you understand the safe, trusted hands you have access to when you choose to consult with me:

  • 5 years University-level training (Bachelor and Masters degrees)
  • 15 years “in-the-field” as a Chiropractor
  • Studying therapeutic and remedial massage
  • Post-graduate training in lifestyle-wellness certification
  • Post-graduate certification in Life Coaching
  • Learning from many mentors over time through a range of personal growth and coaching sources
  • Coordinating and leading crews of volunteers on personal growth workshops and seminars – where I learned to facilitate breathwork, psychodrama, and more
  • Lots of reading and lots of Life Experience!

Living a better life can’t happen without learning new approaches, understanding how stress affects your function, and reducing, counteracting or getting entirely rid of the things that interfere with your body working at its best. 

Another vital piece is understanding that symptoms are often a ‘cry for help’ from your body and that while suppressing them might ‘feel’ better, it doesn’t get to the root of the problem!

I help people resolve and reduce discomfort or symptoms – and I do this well! 
However it is also super exciting to work with people before crisis arises – measuring what is working well, and then putting in place strategies which get it working even better! By doing this, in many case we can avoid crises developing all together. 

Seeing the changes people get when they start care and when they implement my suggestions brings me such joy and fulfilment!

What I’ve found in my professional and personal experience is that often, learning something new (which often results in a change of perspective or belief), and then making some simple lifestyle changes can achieve significant results in life.

I want you to know that what I recommend is driven by you – one step, a few steps, or many steps toward living your ‘best’ life (YOU choose how to define ‘best’ at any given point in time). I love the idea that people could see and outcome of healthcare as how much more they love their life! 

While I always maintain a professional ethos, I work to create a fun environment, where you feel respected and loved, where you are inspired to learn, question and implement a more Vibrant Life. Wouldn’t it be cool to be happier and more fulfilled? To grow your passion and inspiration for life? I want this for everybody!

I continue to keep up-to date with the latest science and research, to make sure that the care I provides remains at the cutting edge.

One step in this direction, was earning the C.C.W.P. qualification – Certified Chiropractic Wellness Lifestyle Professional through the International Chiropractic Association. These skills help me combine chiropractic care with scientifically validated strategies around nutrition, movement, mental health and social interaction to help people move toward better function, performance and productivity.

Why Chiropractic?

I live what I recommend. Chiropractic has been my primary health modality since the age of 3. To me, it is one of the most powerful contributors to overall health, function and performance. Other areas on this website explain this concept in more depth. Read or watch other content I've provided to understand why I feel chiropractic is so beneficial to so many. I studied the 5-year chiropractic program at RMIT University in Melbourne, graduating with distinction in 2009. In my career, I’ve worked as an associate chiropractor, locum chiropractor and a business owner, creating this ‘brand' and site to share what I know.

Why Health & Wellness Coaching?

Chiropractic is not ALL that is needed to live your best life possible. I believe that Chiropractic provides is an essential part of living your most vibrant, extraordinary life - yet it is clearly not the only requirement - there are obviously other elements that contribute to your overall wellness. Health & Wellness Coaching is about supporting people to learn new strategies and understand the impact of existing behaviours on their lives, and make choices about what needs to change!
