So What is Health & Wellness Coaching?
Health & Wellness coaching is about providing you with the tools, knowledge and a drive, an interest, a desire to take action for the long term – working on changing beliefs and behaviours in ways your body needs.
YOU are responsible for consistently implementing strategies to supply the REQUIREMENTS needed to reach your health goals.

Why is Health & Wellness Coaching important?
The bottom line is clear: functioning at
YOUR BEST
requires many things!
Chiropractic care alone (while a critical part of the ‘matrix’ of functioning at your best) IS NOT ALL YOU NEED to maximise your health and express your full potential.
Health & Wellness Coaching is the advice, ideas, homework, rehab strategies, exercises, stretches, lifestyle changes and recommendations we share with you – everything that is NOT the clinical application of chiropractic care.
Some of these ideas challenge the accepted wisdom of traditional healthcare!
We offer this information on this site, on our socials, in stand-alone online webinars and study-modules as well as included in our clinical care.

Our Vibrant Life Keys highlight and explore the GENERAL REQUIREMENTS each member of the human species genetically needs to express ideal health and wellbeing...
...and the word REQUIREMENT by definition means "ESSENTIAL"
There are 7 Vibrant Life Keys which combine to recommend changes and/or improvements to areas of ‘HEALTHSTYLE’ including ideal neurological function (awareness, coordination and control of life), ideal nutrition and internal chemistry, ideal movement needs, ideal mental and emotional function and our needs in terms of social interaction and community involvement – they are effectively the ‘essential nutrients’ needed for your BEST LIFE.
They also underpin the need to understand, identify, eliminate or counteract the toxic loads or deficiency states which may be found in how you are living life.
These keys help you understand how to ‘do’ life better, helping you prioritise and implement changes that can manifest this better function and quality of life.
Recall the FORMULA for expressing IDEAL HEALTH:
- Where your innate genetic capacity and the intelligence which drives it is fixed
- How sufficient and pure your life and lifestyle are relative to the essential requirements of life will determine how close to your full genetic potential is expressed
- How much deficiency or toxicity you experience will detract from your expression of optimal health and function.
Elsewhere on this site we discuss an expanded definition of TOXICITY and DEFICIENCY - here is a reminder...
A Toxic Load = your body experiencing too much of something it is not designed to.
A Deficiency State = your body NOT getting enough of something it genetically requires.
Understanding what constitute toxicities and deficiencies for the human bodymind is the most simple way to idendify what will constitute a NEGATIVE or HARMFUL stress-load ie. something that will likely have a negative impact on our health and wellbeing (the technical term in the literature for a harmful form of stress is “distress”, as opposed to the beneficial ‘eustress’).
It is our genetic blueprint as human beings that determine what for us is a deficiency and what is a toxicity (these requirements are often different from one species to the next).

The Vibrant Life Keys are are comprehensive map to the MANY things we need for an ideal life – here we whittle them down to 4 more basic FUNDAMENTAL REQUIREMENTS to start the journey off…
If we begin by working on these four…we will start to see significant improvement, which will help create motivation for more change over time.
Working on ANY of the 4 will be beneficial...of course, because they are basic
to the FUNDAMENTAL PHYSIOLOGY of the human body(mind)
- Physical Requirements
- Mental & Emotional Requirements (including social relationships, and feelings of worth/contribution/value)
- Brain-Body Communication Requirements (this is the realm of a Chiropractor!)
- Nutrition Requirements
We don't move from 2/10 to 10/10 on a health scale by simply changing 1 variable – this is a crazy assumption!
Clinically we can’t address just one variable and expect profound results; all chronic illnesses are caused by a multitude of variables interacting over long periods of time.
Being in a state of HEALTH doesn’t have just one “CAUSE,” rather there are a range of causal factors/determinants so there is just no point addressing only one issue.
If you don’t address the entire human ecosystem, and the environment in which that human ecosystem lives, then you have no chance of eliciting the expression of ideal health or even of preventing illness.
You can't do 1 of the 4 and be at your best. You need to do all of them..
Each one plays on/relates to the rest.
While Chiropractic care is often central to what I do...it is not all that YOU need to do:
- Better nerve system function will help you digest your food better (you’re not what you EAT, you’re what you DIGEST!) HOWEVER,
Nutrition improvements don’t replace the need for improved nervous system function. - My training will be a million times better if I have a good nerve supply/control (coordination / balance / reaction times / power etc) AND YET,
Methods to improve thinking and feeling don’t replace the need for sufficient exercise/movement. - My sleep, or my thinking, will be better from eating the right foods, AND ALSO
Improved nervous system function (through chiropractic care) doesn’t replace clear thinking, having purpose, feeling loved etc.
Once you establish quality brain/body connection, communication and control (via chiropractic care), then it is important and easier to move through the subsequent steps toward greater expressions of wellness.
No matter where you start, you're always going to benefit,
but the ultimate goal is to integrate each of the steps over time.
Recall that Paradigm and Philosophy are critical to understanding what we do and why!
